Major Fred Brewster started it all. He began outfitting pre-1908 by packing for survey and coal exploration companies. With his help, the coal mines in Nordegg and the British Colories on Jaspers south boundary were founded. He then moved to Jasper and became the largest horse operator, providing pack trips and trail rides throughout the Park.
My father Tom Sr. Came to Jasper and began employment with Brewsters Company in 1939. My mom Yvette came to work at Jasper Park Lodge where she met my dad and they were married in 1947. They purchased the business from Fred Brewster in 1955 which included pack trips into Tonquin Valley, Skyline, and trail rides at the pony barns at Jasper Park Lodge.

In 1979 Horseback Adventures Ltd. was formed when I took over the backcountry pack trips and trail rides into Jasper and Willmore Parks from my dad. West Range Cabin Vacations were added to the
operation in 1996, where along with the backcountry trail rides, we enjoy providing pack trips to clients from around the world.
